TurtleShop is an iOS app developed and operated by Coding from Scratch, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. References to "we", "I", or "the developer" in this policy refer to that individual.
If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact me directly at chris@codingfromscratch.co.uk.
TurtleShop is designed to work without collecting personal information. Specifically:
None of this data is transmitted to the developer or any third party.
TurtleShop does not collect, store, or transmit:
There are no third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking libraries in TurtleShop.
If you use the family sharing feature, your shopping list data is synced via Apple's CloudKit service. This means your data is stored in your own personal iCloud account — not on any server controlled by Coding from Scratch. The developer has no access to this data.
iCloud sync is an optional feature. If you prefer to keep data only on your device, simply don't enable family sharing.
Apple's privacy policy, which governs iCloud and CloudKit, can be found at apple.com/legal/privacy.
TurtleShop offers an optional Premium subscription. All payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer never has access to your payment information, billing address, or card details.
To manage or cancel your subscription, go to Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions on your iPhone, or visit your Apple ID account page.
Subscription purchases may be subject to Apple's terms and conditions, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes.
TurtleShop integrates with Apple Watch and Siri Shortcuts. These features operate using data already on your device. No additional data is sent to the developer as a result of using these features.
Siri interactions are processed by Apple in accordance with their privacy policy.
TurtleShop does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13, or under the applicable age of digital consent in your country. The app does not require account registration and does not collect personal data, making it appropriate for general family use.
Because TurtleShop does not collect personal data, there is generally no data held about you that can be requested, corrected, or deleted by the developer. All your app data exists on your own device and iCloud account, which you control directly.
To delete all TurtleShop data, simply delete the app from your device. If you have enabled iCloud sync, you can also delete the associated CloudKit data from Settings → Your Name → iCloud → Manage Storage.
If you are based in the UK or European Economic Area and believe you have rights under the UK GDPR or EU GDPR that apply to your situation, please contact me at chris@codingfromscratch.co.uk and I will respond promptly.
If this privacy policy changes in a meaningful way — for example, if the app ever begins using analytics or third-party services — the updated policy will be published here with a new date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
Continuing to use TurtleShop after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
